Gary became a Jim’s Mowing Regional Franchisor in 2005, mowed lawns and re-learned business as a ‘Jim’. Since then Gary has learned what it takes to build and run successful Mowing and Garden Care businesses. Gary’s passion for training and support means he also leads the New Franchise Induction Training Program. Since 2005 the NZ North team have more than quadrupled in size, while demand for services has grown hugely, from no jobs unserviced in 2006 to 1179 leads unserviced in 2018.

Gary sees a Jim’s Mowing franchise as providing opportunity – to completely change your life. To regain the ability to choose your life - your time, your clients, your earnings. And that means (mostly) it is good fun too.

Stephen started off his Jim’s Career working in the Jim’s Call Centre, on his second day he started taking New Zealand calls.

Stephen has strong New Zealand roots, brought up in the South Island. Lived in Christchurch before the devasting earthquakes struck.

Stephen has a passion for excellent customer service and support of Franchisees. There are Franchises available across Stephen’s Regions and throughout NZ. It’s a great lifestyle opportunity to be your own boss and start an exciting new business with the support of a team behind you.

Jim’s BoP & Hawkes Bay

Darrell became a Jim’s Mowing Regional Franchisor in 2018. He started with Jim’s as a Test & Tag Franchisee in 2015, and in 2017 he was the winner of the Jim’s Test & Tag Franchisee of the Year Award.

The Bay of Plenty and Hawkes Bay Area is large in size and has a big demand for services; a lot are going unserviced which means there are great opportunities for new Franchisees coming in, as well as existing Franchisees to grow.

Darrell believes the relationship between the Franchisee and Franchisor is a partnership and his goal is to have happy & successful Franchisees. Working is grossly overrated (a necessary evil) but it’s something most of us have to do so why not do something that gives you flexibility about what and when you do it, and at the same time provides you with a comfortable income, for a modest investment.

When Darrell’s not working, he likes to spend his time with his family, friends, he enjoys watching cricket, motorsport and would like to spend more time on the river trout fishing.

  • Police Checked
    A police check is issued as an official document to verify a background check by police or government agency to enumerate any criminal records a service provider may have.
  • $1,000,000 Work Guarantee
    This guarantee is up to one million dollars for work done by Jim's Group Franchisees.

    If you are not satisfied with the job, we will inspect it and have any problems fixed. If we believe the job is good and you do not, we will jointly agree on an independent expert to provide a report at our expense, and fix any problems found. Until this is done, you need not pay for the job. If problems are not fixed within a fortnight, any advance will be refunded.

    Only if no problems are found by the expert, will you be asked to pay the agreed price for the job and half the cost of the report.

    If the job is done to get your bond back on leaving a rental property, the job is only considered good when the agent or landlord is satisfied.

    If payment is made in advance and the job not done, the payment will be refunded.
  • $10,000,000 Public Liability
    A public liability policy covers damage to people or property.

    It is in place to protect business owners if someone sues for personal injury or damage to property.
