Meet Our NZ Team

Regional Franchisors for Jim’s Group New Zealand

Gary Turton

Gary Turton

Jim’s Northland

Gary became a Jim’s Mowing Regional Franchisor in 2005, mowed lawns and re-learned business as a ‘Jim’. Since then Gary has learned what it takes to build and run successful Mowing and Garden Care businesses. Gary’s passion for training and support means he also leads the New Franchise Induction Training Program. Since 2005 the NZ North team have more than quadrupled in size, while demand for services has grown hugely, from no jobs unserviced in 2006 to 1179 leads unserviced in 2018.

Gary sees a Jim’s Mowing franchise as providing opportunity – to completely change your life. To regain the ability to choose your life - your time, your clients, your earnings. And that means (mostly) it is good fun too.

Alex Smith & Greg Cox

Alex Smith & Greg Cox

Jim’s Auckland

I’m Alex Smith and Greg Cox is my father in law.

We are well entrenched in the Jim’s Group – with over 70 franchisees in the Jim’s Mowing Auckland business.

My “trade” is business. I’m an experienced company owner, consultant and business broker. I like to see people succeed in business and that is why I’m involved with the Jim’s Group.

Greg’s “trade” is people. As an experienced people manager, Greg’s core focus in Jim’s Mowing is franchisee support and development.

Darren Laycock

Darren Laycock

Jim’s Waikato

Darren is the Regional Franchisor for Jim’s Mowing Waikato and Counties regions. He is developing the business to service the region, to provide professional lawn and associated services to both residential and commercial customers, as well as recruiting new franchisees.

Darren also loves to help existing franchisees to reach their full potential within their businesses and is a working franchisee too. He brings a degree of common sense to Jim’s, solid work ethics and a healthy sense of humour, which enables him to work well with franchisees as well as clients.

An abundance of work in the Waikato means Darren is looking for a number of new franchisees, so call him now for a no-obligation chat.

Darrell Webber

Darrell Webber

Jim’s BoP & Hawkes Bay

Darrell became a Jim’s Mowing Regional Franchisor in 2018. He started with Jim’s as a Test & Tag Franchisee in 2015, and in 2017 he was the winner of the Jim’s Test & Tag Franchisee of the Year Award.

The Bay of Plenty and Hawkes Bay Area is large in size and has a big demand for services; a lot are going unserviced which means there are great opportunities for new Franchisees coming in, as well as existing Franchisees to grow.

Darrell believes the relationship between the Franchisee and Franchisor is a partnership and his goal is to have happy & successful Franchisees. Working is grossly overrated (a necessary evil) but it’s something most of us have to do so why not do something that gives you flexibility about what and when you do it, and at the same time provides you with a comfortable income, for a modest investment.

When Darrell’s not working, he likes to spend his time with his family, friends, he enjoys watching cricket, motorsport and would like to spend more time on the river trout fishing.

Gavin Mcglashan

Gavin Mcglashan

He specialises in business support, franchise sales and support, and advertising development.

Rod Skelton

Rod Skelton

Jim’s Christchurch

Rod joined Jim’s Mowing in 1996, over 22 years ago.

Sandy and Rod own and operate the Jim’s Mowing franchise for Christchurch and a considerable portion of the South Island.

They always have franchise opportunities available for self motivated people who would like to be self-employed.

Neil Turner

Neil Turner

Jim’s Otago

Neil Turner purchased the Jim’s Mowing Regional Franchise for Otago in November 2005. The Otago region comprises of all areas south of a line from Haast to north of Oamaru. All franchises in this area are part of this region. There are currently franchisees operating in Mosgiel, Dunedin and Central Otago.

Neil has owned and operated a Jim’s Mowing franchise in Dunedin since 2002. He also worked as a green keeper for twelve years and hold Green keeping Trade Certificate and a Turf Culture Diploma.

Sick of working long hours and wanting more
time with his family, he purchased a franchise and believes that Jim’s Mowing is the best Mowing & Garden Care franchise available in New Zealand.
